Frugal Christmas Tree Decorations

I told you how to save money on decorating your apartment, now how about saving money on decorating a Christmas Tree?! Since my husband and I are still "newly" married, less than three years, our tree is still small and we have stuff left over from our wedding. For our first christmas we didn't have anything to put on our tree except a very large very pretty topper. Our tree is only four feet tall so the topper looked funny. So I had to figure out what to put on the tree to make it look nice but not spend much.

The solution: our left over wedding favors: heart shaped cookie cutters. I have them hanging on the tree with the other small silver and red ball ornaments and a few others we have picked up through the couple years of wedded bliss.


More tips from using wedding stuff: I bought candles and plates to set them on that matched the decor of our apartment which was also our wedding colors; red, black, and white. I used the candles as our centerpieces for the reception. Then took them home and used them in the apartment decor.
